BLOCKLEY
DECORATIVE AND FINE ARTS SOCIETY
Founded 1985

Blockley Decorative and Fine Arts Society (BDFAS) was formed in 1985 as a branch of
NADFAS (The National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies).

Members enjoy a programme of 9 Lectures each year plus at least 2 Days of Special Interest and at least 2 full−day Visits to venues or exhibitions of special interest. Additionally, each year, the Society arranges Away Trips: at least one 3−4 day trip within the UK plus a longer overseas visit.

BDFAS has an active Church Recorders' group and our Heritage Volunteers undertake work to assist local Heritage sites and museums with conservation, cataloguing and similar projects. We also actively support and contribute to Young Arts projects.

Lectures are held in the superbly equipped St George’s Hall in Blockley on the 3rd Monday of the month from September to November and January to June. Lectures start at 2:45pm and members are encouraged to stay for tea afterwards.

At the turn of the calendar year, we hold either a Christmas or New Year event: a stylish lunch linked with a ‘lecture’ − which generally involves musical entertainment.

BDFAS currently has around 250 members and a manageable waiting list. We welcome Visitors to any of our events (by prior arrangement with the Membership Secretary, please).

Our Annual General Meeting is held each year in June, immediately preceding the June Lecture.
